Our Pilates fundraiser day at Core Connect Pilates on 21st September 2025 has now taken place and what an incredible day it was. We’re so grateful to everyone who came along, moved with purpose, and helped support Penelope’s journey to America for life-changing rehabilitation.
Although the event has finished, our fundraising continues, and we’re still sharing Penelope’s story to help reach even more people who may wish to support her.
Penelope was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder (8p inverted duplication and deletion syndrome) and agenesis of the corpus callosum at 18 months old. She’s non-verbal, has low muscle tone (hypotonia), scoliosis, and a rare painful nerve condition but she’s also incredibly determined, loving, and full of giggles. Specialist intensive therapy has helped Penelope take her first steps in a walker and even a few independent steps in the pool. But this progress only comes with consistent, intensive support, which is costly and ongoing.
The difference these therapies make is truly life-changing: she gains in 3 weeks what would normally take a year. Your donations help cover her therapy, specialist equipment, and support programs like NAPA, Swimlab and private home physio. With continued help, she can build strength, improve mobility, live with less pain, and grow her independence. We’re endlessly proud of our little fighter. Every step she takes is thanks to your generosity.
If you weren’t able to attend the fundraiser but still wish to help, your donation or even sharing Penelope’s story can make a real and lasting difference.
With heartfelt thanks, Penelope’s family x
