Our family is heartbroken to share that our mother, Peggy Sheahan, recently lost her home in a sudden and devastating fire on April 16, 2026. Thankfully, she is safe, but everything she owned—her home, family heirlooms, belongings, pet cats, and cherished memories—was lost.
Peggy was raised in Rocky Ford, CO, and her family, the Grahams, have been a part of the community for three generations. Peggy has been through a lot in the past few years. She lost her husband, who was a Vietnam veteran, to cancer in 2020. She currently is battling stage 3 kidney failure and has an ongoing shoulder injury. This home was everything to her, having raised all five of her children in it and also cared for her late husband, who passed away at this home as well. Peggy turns 75 on May 4th, and she lost everything in a matter of minutes.
We are raising funds to help cover immediate needs like clothing, food, and other essential items for herself and her remaining pets, as well as longer-term recovery expenses. Any excess funds will go towards savings for a new home. Peggy lives on a fixed income and unfortunately couldn't afford homeowners insurance. She is having to start over from scratch, replacing basic necessities, and rebuilding her home and life.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page with others would mean so much to us.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
