Help Peggy Fight Cancer and Overcome Hardship

This fundraiser is for our neighbor and dear friend, Peggy N., a 67-year-old woman who is bravely battling Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer.

Peggy is one of the most independent and kindhearted people you could ever meet. Over the past few years, however, she’s faced more hardship than anyone should have to endure. She lost her husband in a motorcycle accident, endured debilitating migraines, and underwent open-heart surgery just last year. Despite everything, she’s always faced life with strength and optimism.

After months of abdominal pain that doctors initially dismissed as acid reflux or gas, Peggy was finally diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. As many know, ovarian cancer is extremely aggressive and often goes undetected until it has already spread. Receiving the diagnosis brought both heartbreak and relief — heartbreak for the battle ahead, and relief that she finally knew what was causing her suffering.

Peggy is now undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments, and even on her toughest days, she still manages to smile and ask how everyone else is doing. Her resilience is inspiring.

Unfortunately, while facing this health crisis, Peggy’s financial burdens have become overwhelming. Her car recently broke down on the way to a doctor’s appointment, forcing her to pay unexpected repair costs. Then, just days ago, she discovered a serious plumbing leak under her home’s foundation on the hot-water line. The plumber quoted her $4,000 for the repair, not including drywall restoration afterward.

All of this is happening as Peggy prepares for major cancer surgery next week to remove as much of the cancer as possible.

Peggy lives on a limited social security income, which barely covers her normal monthly expenses. The mounting costs from her medical care, car repairs, and now home repairs are simply too much to bear.

We’re asking for your help to ease some of Peggy’s financial burden so she can focus on what truly matters — fighting for her life and staying positive through this difficult journey.
