Hi, I am one of the many friends of Peggy Akers who are hosting this for our dear friend.

Peggy lost her battle with cancer this morning!

Her son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Lauren rearranged their home to make it possible for her to stay with them and her sweet grandson, Jensen. Josh has been working sporadically since March when Peggy was diagnosed. He has been her main caregiver.

In the last week, she had a chemo treatment and two days later she fell and broke her pelvis.

Josh and the Dr. decided to have her moved home to Josh’s house. Hospice was called in.

While we can’t do for Peggy, we can honor her wishes and help Josh and his family through this hard time with prayers and ease the financial burden that they are about to endure.

Peggy lit up a room when she entered. You could hear her coming! She will be sorely missed.

The visitation is at Oakey’s on Monday evening, from 6-8. John M. Oakey & Son Chapel
