Thank you for taking the time to read my dog PeeWee's story. I adopted PeeWee from KC Pet Project in September. This lil guy quickly became my lil shadow. Shy and timid at first, he's begun to blossom into one of the best companions. He is attentive, cuddly, sweet. He's brought such a renewed passion for life into my world. I'm here to humbly ask for your help because I cannot afford his care.
Monday, 11/10, I noticed that his energy/playfulness dulled. He'd become reclusive; hiding under the bed. Tuesday 11/11/25 he started to refuse his favorite ball, water, and food. Vomiting non stop with liquid stool & clearly in pain. We went to the ER. Fluids were replenished and then we were sent home with probiotics. Wed , 11/12, I took him to his primary vet. After further testing, it was discovered that a foreign object was anchoring his stomach, blocking his intestines, requiring life saving surgery to remove it.
The initial diagnostic visit, Xrays, stomach ultrasound, & medications has already cost $2000 out of pocket.
The surgery required to remove the blockage (including hospitalization/recovery) is estimated to be $6000-$8000. I was eligible for a care loan so that I could put down the deposit to begin surgery ($4,500. )
I'm thankful to say that the surgery has gone well. We still have a couple days left of in-clinic recovery, followed by 2 weeks home recovery. This was an urgent unexpected decision. It was hard to be told that I must decide between euthanasia or a procedure that had a positive prognosis. Having to put a price on his survival. I'm a small business owner that was already struggling financially. I'm seeking mutual aid to help cover his medical expenses. Anything would help offset the hardship. It's been a devastating couple days. This pup means the absolute world to me and I would deeply appreciate your support.
Thank You
