Pedro is a much-loved street dog who has become part of the heart and soul of our little village, Jimena de la Frontera.

He and his brother were abandoned in the campo as tiny puppies. Sadly, his brother was run over and killed. Pedro, alone and frightened, slowly made his way into the village in search of food. At first, he was nervous and shy – but over the last six months he has blossomed into the happiest, friendliest chap.

Now, Pedro is looked after by everyone in Jimena. He trots around the village, tail wagging, always ready for a tummy rub or a gentle stroke. He has a way of brightening people’s day with his warmth, loyalty, and big heart.

Unfortunately, last week Pedro’s story took a sad turn. He was hit by a car and one of his back legs was badly broken. The only way for him to recover fully and get back to his playful self is to have an operation to repair the leg.

The cost of surgery and aftercare is more than we, as a small community, can cover alone. That’s why we are reaching out for help.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards Pedro’s operation and recovery.

Pedro has brought so much joy to so many people here – now it’s our turn to give him the chance to run, play, and live the happy life he deserves.

Withdrawals for Pedro

A quick note to keep everything clear and transparent: I’ll be withdrawing the funds raised directly into my bank account so that I can pay the vet for Pedro’s treatment.

As much as we’d love it, Pedro the Podenco doesn’t have his own bank account — so I’ll be handling the payments on his behalf.

Every penny raised here will go straight towards his surgery, recovery, and care. Thank you all so much for your generosity and kindness — Pedro is one very lucky dog to have so many friends looking out for him. ❤️
