Please help me raise money to apply for DACA, so that I may fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher.
My Name is Pedro Moyeda, I came to the United States with my family at the age of 15 due to the harsh and potentially life-threatening environment that we were surrounded by. Unfortunately, as an adolescent, I had to leave all my belongings, friends, and family behind unexpectedly and was very uncertain and scared of what lied ahead for me in the future. It wasn’t until I started high school as a freshman that I realized there was an opportunity available for me here, and that what I needed to do was strive for the best academically and as a person. I then recognized how fortunate and grateful I was to be able to attend a free school, eat lunch for free, and live the great American Dream. It was my high school and some of the greatest educators that helped pave a path for me in wanting to become a Math Teacher. Due to all of my academic success in high school, I went on to achieve many awards and even earned scholarships for college. I was very fortunate to have attended and graduated from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with not just one but two Bachelor’s Degrees in Interdisciplinary studies (Math concentration) and in Mexican American Studies. Besides having earned both bachelor's degrees, I was also fortunate to have graduated from the UTeach Program which helps prepare highly qualified STEM Teachers and successfully passed both the State of Texas Teaching certification exams. Becoming a Math Teacher has been a dream & goal that I hold dearly in my heart and would love to be able to achieve. I not only want to help students learn about mathematics but be a positive influence in as many children’s lives as possible. It would truly be an honor to encourage the importance of education and show all students that they can succeed in anything they put their minds to no matter where they come from as my teachers did with me. I am extremely fortunate to have been recognized by many friends and family as being a very hardworking, educated, outgoing, caring, friendly, truly deserving, and warm-hearted person who wishes to help support my family and community. This is why my wife and I have created this GoFundMe in hopes that we can raise enough money to cover my DACA application fee & lawyer’s fee, so that I may apply as soon as possible and achieve my dream of becoming a teacher. I understand that times have been really rough lately, but any amount donated will help and will be greatly appreciated.

Mi nombre es Pedro Moyeda, vine a los Estados Unidos con mi familia a la edad de 15 años debido al entorno hostil y potencialmente difícil que nos rodeaba. Desafortunadamente, como adolescente tuve que dejar todas mis pertenencias, amigos y familiares sin pensarlo dos veces, y estaba muy inseguro y asustado por lo que me esperaba en el futuro. No fue hasta que comencé la escuela preparatoria como estudiante de primer año que me di cuenta de que había una oportunidad disponible para mí aquí, y que lo que tenía que hacer era luchar por lo mejor académicamente y como persona. Entonces reconocí lo afortunado y agradecido que estaba de poder asistir a una escuela gratuita, con almorzar y comida gratis y vivir el gran sueño Americano. Fue mi escuela preparatoria y algunos de los mejores educadores los que me ayudaron a prepararme para querer convertirme en maestro de Matemáticas. Debido a todo mi éxito académico en la escuela preparatoria, logré muchos premios e incluso obtuve becas para la Universidad. Fui muy afortunado de haber asistido y graduado de la Universidad de Texas Río Grande Valley con no solo uno sino dos títulos de Licenciatura en Estudios Interdisciplinarios (concentración matemática) y en Estudios Mexicoamericanos. Además de haber obtenido ambos títulos de licenciatura, también tuve la suerte de graduarme del Programa UTeach, que ayuda a preparar maestros STEM altamente calificados, y de aprobar con éxito los dos exámenes de certificación del Estado de Texas. Convertirse en un maestro de Matemáticas ha sido un sueño y una meta que tengo en mi corazón y que me encantaría poder lograr. No solo quiero ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender sobre matemáticas, sino ser una influencia positiva en la vida de tantos niños como sea posible. Realmente sería un honor enseñar la importancia de la educación y mostrar a todos los estudiantes que pueden tener éxito en cualquier cosa que se propongan, sin importar de dónde vengan, como hicieron mis maestros conmigo. Soy extremadamente afortunado de haber sido reconocido por muchos amigos y familiares como una persona muy trabajadora, educada, extrovertida, cariñosa, amigable, verdaderamente digna y de buen corazón que desea ayudar a mi familia y comunidad. Es por eso que mi esposa y yo hemos creado este GoFundMe con la esperanza de que podamos recaudar suficientes fondos para cubrir mi tarifa de solicitud de DACA y la tarifa del abogado, para poder aplicar tan pronto sea posible y cumplir mi sueño de convertirme en maestro. Entiendo que los tiempos han sido muy difíciles últimamente, pero cualquier cantidad donada ayudará y será muy apreciada.
