My name is Pedro Lozano, and I am a resident of South Ogden, Utah. I am seeking your support to an unforgettable experience in Cape Town, South Africa on May 24, 2026.

I am an amateur athlete, middle school XC coach, mountain bike coach, full time employee and an adjunct professor. Like most, because of my family, work, and volunteer commitments, I must squeeze in training on the weekends, in the early mornings, at lunch, and after the sun goes down to pursue my endurance sport passion.

My family and my commitment to my community have always come first, but all the hard work in those late and early hours has paid off in a way I could have never expected, and I would love your help to fulfill a dream I could have never dreamed – and your help would give my family the chance to be there too.

I am excited to share with you an invitation I received from ABBOTT World Marathon Majors. The invitation is to compete for the 2026 Marathon World Championship in Sanlam Cape Town, South Africa on May 24, 2026. When I first laced up my shoes for the beloved Ogden Marathon in 2022, I never thought that I would receive an invitation to compete on the worldwide stage to represent Ogden and Utah. I could have done none of this without my support team – my family – and I also want them to join me in Cape Town because without them, this dream would feel less than.

My most recent (St. George Marathon 2025) marathon finish time (2:34:05) allowed me to qualify (standard qualification 2:35:00) for a global competition within my age group (M40-44). I am seeking support for this journey; this would help me and my family (support team) to attend this special event.

On May 21, 2022, I ran my first marathon (Ogden Marathon) and ever since then I have been hungry for more. The Ogden Marathon is truly special to me and always a favorite. Because of the beautiful scenery, amazing people and incredible experience. Ogden, Utah is a mecca to me in outdoor recreation like cycling, hiking, running and much more.

This global competition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent my family, friends, community, the city, the state of Utah, and the U.S. I would love to have my family there with me, and with your support, this could be true.
