Hi, my name is Mady Hastings and my long-term friend, Pearl, is in need of our help. Pearl is a hard working massage therapist who works day in and day out to care for herself, her dogs, and her mom here in the Greenville SC area. Pearl not only runs her own traveling massage therapy business but also works for a local upscale spa as well as instructs Zumba in her spare time.

Pearl has been dealing with devastating health complications that have, until recently, had no explanation. Vomiting, pain, loss of consciousness, inability to eat, multiple visits to the urgent care/hospital; this week, she finally got answers....

Pearl has been notified that she has a 10-15lb cluster of suspected cysts and fibroids in her abdomen that are pushing up on her diaphragm and completely surrounding her vital organs. Her symptoms finally make sense, but the treatment plan is harrowing. Pearl is to undergo invasive abdominal surgery to remove the cysts as well as a complete hysterectomy to ensure that this will not reoccur. Unfortunately, we will not know the severity of these cysts or whether they are malignant until this first surgery is complete. Her surgery is scheduled for March 10th; unexpectedly much sooner than she anticipated, meaning she was unable to properly prepare for the financial burden.

Pearl will be out of work for 6-8 weeks, meaning her housing, food, and wellbeing could be affected greatly. This is where we come in: let's help support this strong, hard working, kind woman in her time of need.
