Hello, as most of you know, our beautiful and sweet dog Pearl had a freak accident on June 3rd. We think she went to chase something (a squirrel or person, as she likes to do) and went under the cotter pin to our trailer, and it ripped her open pretty good.

We immediately got her help at an emergency vet clinic. They cleaned her up, put the tissue back inside where it belongs, and stitched her up. After about $1,170, we thought we were safe.

We took her to the ER vet again, and it cost us $170. The next day, Pearl is experiencing a slight infection (hoping it stays that way) and necrosis where her skin is dying. She has a giant open wound now and needs surgery to fix it.

We are looking at at least $1,000 more. We spent over $200 on supplies for her like bandages, shirts, gauze, a soft pillow cone, wet food to take pills, and more.

They want to run more tests and do more work that we had to turn down because we are officially out of money.

Our original goal was $3300.00 but we lowered it because it looks like Pearl will not need the additional testing or procedures at this time!!! Woohoo!!

Here is a breakdown of what we spent:

Stitches removal should be free if nothing looks concerning. :)

$150 for t shirts, food to take pills with, special pillow collar to keep her from licking or chewing, wipes to keep the wound clean and disinfected, washcloths, and more.

I hate asking, but I don’t know what else to do! So any amount, even if $1.00, helps! TIA
