My name is Jessica. My brother rescued a 2-year-old micro bully in October 2025 from someone who could no longer care for her. When he picked her up, she was unable to walk and not using her two back legs. We had X-rays taken of her spine and hips to find out more about her condition. In the meantime, Pearl was spayed, and I unexpectedly but excitedly took her into my home as her foster mom. With a little patience and time, she is able to walk and is still making tremendous progress every day.

I had her X-rays sent to a specialist to find out her diagnosis and if she was a candidate for surgery. After their review, it turns out Pearl has a fracture in her left hip that never healed. While she has now over time learned to compensate with her injury, she is a candidate for FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery. While her ability to get around is satisfactory right now, and her pain is said to be minimal at this time, she will develop arthritis around the injury and get worse over time. The surgeon is willing to take her case and is confident in the procedure improving Pearl’s quality of life.

As an exotic micro bully breed, she faces many health risks and challenges in her lifespan. I am doing everything I can to build her odds against those health challenges. I feed her a raw diet as well as many joint supplements.

My two children and I have decided to adopt Pearl and do life with her.

I would like to ask for some help with her surgery expenses so we can continue to help her become her best version and live her most fulfilling life.
