Help Peanut Walk Again: Support Needed

Hello Everyone. I'm Mikayla Campbell, Pam Gallo's daughter and Pat Noonan's step-daughter.

On Tuesday, March 11, our family dog, Peanut (Binks' sister for those who know my dog), was chasing after a squirrel in the back yard when all of a sudden she yelped and could no longer use her back legs. My mom took her to the vet right away on Tuesday where she was prescribed pain medications and if she did not gain function in her back legs she would need to go see a Neurologist the following day. Unfortunately, she did not gain function back and after seeing the neurologist on Wednesday, March 12 it was determined that she has herniated a disc in her back which is causing Peanut's inability to use her back legs.

Peanut and Pat are currently (March 12 2:15 PM) on their way to Auburn University's Veterinary Clinic to determine if she will be able to undergo immediate surgery. She will be getting another MRI at Auburn and if she is a candidate for surgery, her likelihood of being able to use her back legs again after surgery is around 50%. Even with this low percentage, my mom and Pat want to do everything they can to see if they can help Peanut be able to use her legs again. If she does have surgery, she will also need to undergo many months of rehabilitation. If she is not a candidate for surgery, she will need to be fitted for some sort of wheelchair device to help her walk plus rehabilitation.

As many pet owners know, veterinary costs are known to be exorbitant and the surgery and rehabilitation costs are no different. They have already spent a few thousand just in initial x-rays, scans, and vet care in the past two days.

If you know my mom and Pat, you know that they love their dogs more than anything in this world and they are foster dog parents as well, fostering over 70+ dogs in the past five years. I am asking for help from our friends and family to assist in helping Pat, Pam, and Peanut with what is going to be a long and financially burdensome road ahead.

If you are unable to donate anything financially, please keep Peanut and our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. All funds will be going directly towards Peanut's care and medical bills and any additional money gained will be donated to the local rescue organization where my parents foster dogs.
