Peanut is a sweet and gentle pet chicken who means so much to her flock and to me. She loves being petted and will blink her eyes in contentment, showing just how much she enjoys gentle attention. Peanut is not only a loving companion, but she also plays a special role as the guardian of her flock, always watching out for the other chickens. Her adorable little strut and the delicious dark brown eggs she lays make her a favorite among everyone who knows her.
Recently, Peanut was attacked by a loose dog and suffered severe bite wounds to her neck, back, and rear end. She is currently in a lot of pain and is being treated with antibiotics and painkillers, but she needs urgent surgery tomorrow to repair the damage. The operation will require stitches and sedation, and her recovery will involve follow-up care to make sure she heals well. This is the second time Peanut has been attacked, and her resilience is truly remarkable.
Peanut actually belongs to my neighbors, but they are unable to afford the cost of her surgery. I am stepping in to cover the expenses because I want to save her life and give her the chance to return to her flock. Any support will go directly toward Peanut’s surgery and recovery, helping her get back to the happy, healthy chicken she deserves to be.
