Help Peanut Recover from Severe Injuries

This is Peanut, our 4 year old chihuahua/pocket pit mix. We are trying to raise money for his vet bills. He was missing for 2 weeks and when we finally found him he was in very bad condition. He had a gunshot wound in his hind leg that was severely infected as well as being severely emaciated and dehydrated. He spent 3 days in the hospital on IV fluids and antibiotics. They have let us bring him home for now but the bullet shattered his femur and his leg needs to be amputated once he's healthy enough for surgery. He will also be neutered when they do the amputation. We will be going back to the vet later this week to see if he's made enough progress to move forward with surgery. He has put on quite a bit of weight since coming home and is looking much better so we are hoping! He's still on antibiotics and pain meds in the mean time. His hospital stay was just over $500 and once they do the surgery the total will be $1500. Any donations received will go straight to his vet bills and are very much appreciated!
