Help Peach Fight Cancer—Again!

Hi,

My name is Andrea, and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have three cats and one of them is Peach. Peach is a quintessential lap cat. She loves to cuddle, be pet and lavished with attention, nap, and just keep me company. She's the sweetest of my three, she's just happy to have your attention.

In May of last year, 2024, I found a lump in Peach. I immediately made an appointment with the vet and was advised that she did have some kind of growth but that the vet couldn't tell me what it was, or what it wasn't, unless we biopsied it OR removed it and had it tested. I wanted whatever it was out of her and elected to have surgery done to remove it and have it tested after the fact, hoping it would be nothing more than a cyst. It wasn't. It was a common form of aggressive cancer found in cats and dogs, and while the grade of her cancer was low and treatable via removal, if the surgery didn't remove it all, it could grow back in a matter of months and there was nothing I could do but wait, check her regularly and hope.

Sadly, the testing of the lump after surgery could not confirm the entirety of the lump was removed and now, a year later a new cancerous lump is regrowing in the same spot, and she has to have surgery again. I'm devastated, but not having the surgery and doing everything I can to provide her with a happy and healthy life isn't an option in my mind. Last year, I drained every penny of what meager savings I had, coupled with some family support to get her surgery done. With the economy the way it is, and as a single income household, I was financially cripped for months and only managed to accumulate some savings again by having over 10 vacation days paid out at work at the end of 2024 - but it's not much.

I can't afford to drain my small savings entirely again, so without any other idea of what to do to help Peach, here I am. I love my cats, they keep me going, keep my company, bring me comfort and joy, and I need to do what I can to keep them healthy and safe.

I wish I had another option that didn't necessitate me asking for financial support like this, but I don't know what else to do. If you are able and willing, I would immensely appreciate any support, you can offer but please DO NOT do so at your own expense. The cost of living is ever escalating, and I don't want anyone to send financial aid if they themselves are not in a place to give it. I've been there, am there, so please only offer support if you truly can comfortably.
