Support PC Rush during this difficult time

Policing over the last year has been challenging enough without having to deal with difficulties at home. Our colleague Simon Rush based at Musselburgh Police station has been working front line response throughout the pandemic however, he has recently learnt that his father is terminally ill back home in Australia. 

On top of this horrendous news, I found out recently that the cost for Simon to go to Australia is astronomical. His flight alone is costing him £8,500 and this is just a one way ticket. He is also having to hire a car to go to London to get his flight. On his arrival in Australia, Simon will be required to self-isolate for two weeks and arrange COVID testing which is all at his own cost. The total cost for ONE WAY is not shy of £10,000!!

I know I won’t be able to take the pain of him losing his father away but with this Go Fund me page,  I would hope, if only slightly, it may relieve him of some of the stress.

Simon is a well-respected and highly liked individual and you would never know what he is currently going through as he has never complained and has an amazing and surprisingly positive attitude which is a credit to his character. 

 
Any money raised will be given to Simon in full and would be used for easing the financial burden this has placed on him.

This is an appeal to Simon’s second family within the Police force to help support him in this difficult time.
