Help us payoff and donate Myron’s mobility van
On January 15, 2021, our beloved father, husband, papa, friend, and servant, Myron Redden passed away from complications of Inclusion Body Myositis. IBM is a rare muscle disease very similar to muscular dystrophy.
When Myron stopped being able to walk, insurance refused to cover a wheelchair or wheelchair van. After 2 years of jumping through hoops, insurance finally agreed to assist in the purchase of a wheelchair. Wheelchair vans are not covered by insurance because they are not considered necessary.
Knowing the medical and financial hurdles that Myron went through lead us to this GoFundMe campaign. Even with good insurance, diseases like IBM are expensive and can place such financial strain on a family that it’s almost impossible to focus on recovering, enjoying final days, or moving forward after life loss.
Our wish is to honor Myron by paying off his van and then donating it and his wheelchair to a local family or families with similar diagnosis. This will not only honor Myron but it will prevent someone in our community from the same financial burden Myron experienced.
If by chance we are unable to cover the full debt, we will offset the debt with what donations are received to make the van and wheelchair more affordable to someone in need. Thank you all in advance for any help that you can give! Myron would be grateful!
