Tuition for Ibrahim Eladouli's Final MBA Semester

Donation protected

Dear friends, friends of friends, and family,

I am only one semester away from earning my Master of Business Administration degree at Alliant University in San Diego, California, and I need your help to finish this amazing and turbulent journey.  My name is Ibrahim Eladouli. I was 20 years old when I said goodbye to my mother, father, and siblings in Benghazi, Libya in 2015, and I am determined to return to my family with my hard-fought MBA in hand.

In 2015, during the Arab Spring, I left my family and my home town of Benghazi, Libya and arrived in Denver, Colorado to start my English language training at Spring International Language Center. As an 18-year-old soccer star, I had been granted a full scholarship from the Libyan government to study in the U.S., and I successfully applied for the necessary student visa from the United States to study here. What a blessing! It was the chance of a life-time.

The scholarship funds were supposed to be sent from Libya to the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), the organization that disbursed the money, but the payments have always been sporadic due to the dysfunction of the war-torn Libyan government and bank system. Despite these financial strains, I made it through almost a year of English training, and then I was accepted to Alliant University where I graduated in 2018 with a bachelor's in business administration and a GPA of 3.5.

It is now 2020, and I have still not returned to Libya to see my mother, father, and siblings. I can’t visit my family because I may not be allowed back into the U.S., and then I may never finish my MA. Not being with my family brings waves of sadness, as you can imagine, but I am determined to complete my education, and I am so close! After finishing my BA, I was accepted into Alliant’s MBA program. I have successfully finished all but one semester of coursework, and the Libyan government has informed me that it is discontinuing my support. You see, right now the situation of war in Libya is worse than ever, and the government is broken. The government is unable to fulfill its commitment to the scholarship they gave me, and there is nothing I can do to change that.

Maybe it is difficult for you to imagine how hard the past 6 years of my life have been for me and my family back home. God gives us tests in our lives so that we can become stronger in our faith and learn things like patience and perseverance.
I still have 5 classes left to finish my MBA, and I do not have money for my tuition this semester. Since I am an international student, it is illegal for me to work to earn money for my tuition. Tuition here is $11,050 for the five MA classes. I have tried to get other scholarships here, but I don’t qualify for any other financial assistance.

It is difficult to ask for this kind of help, but I really need it so that I can return to Libya with the skills and knowledge to positively impact my city and community back home. Any amount of support would be appreciated.

This GoFundMe will remain open for one semester of my MBA. I will continue to update this page with my progress along the way as well as any other offline contributions that I receive. If you are able, please donate, share, and promote my GoFundMe page. I and my family will always be grateful.
