Very early morning on June 4th we took our cat Ra into the emergency vet because he was having some troubles with peeing. At that time he was not obstructed but it was noted that he had crystals in his urine. We immediately started him on prescription food since we already have some due to our cat, Eel, also having urinary issues.
The evening of June 5th Ra was having extreme difficulty using the bathroom. We took him back to the emergency vet and this time he was fully obstructed. This requires emergency intervention and a stay at the emergency vet so they could remove the obstruction and have him on a catheter for a couple days. He responded well to treatment and came home the morning of June 8th. We are thankful that we could address this in a timely manner as it's a quickly life threatening issue.
We're grateful to have been able to put the costs on our credit cards but we would super appreciate some assistance in covering the costs. In total his bills come to around $2,600. We love our sweet boy very much and are very glad that he's ok now. Any funds beyond the goal will go into further helping him (prescription food that both him and Eel will be eating, future vet visits, etc). There is also the risk of reoccurrence but HOPEFULLY that does not happen!! Once he's been on the food for a decent period of time that risk goes down.
Thank you so much for reading and thank you if you donate or even just spread the word for support!
