Help pay medical for Dana's pain & sleep issues

My son Dana finally got a recovery plan for his PTSD. We need some help to pay the bills so we can deal with the health issues of the past 10 years. The medical bills have been through the roof. It started when he had an issue with his ankle that started to hurt and would not stop. It was the same leg that he had surgery on when he was 13. He had a tumor in his femur when he was 13 with a rare disease called Fibrous Dysplasia. He started to go to doctors and no one could figure out what was wrong. I started to go with him as support when I was not traveling. All the time in terrible pain, it took more than 50 doctors in over 2 years to find his medical problem which was a tumor in his ankle that was so big it eroded bone.

It is just him and me with no other support, with his father I was battered for almost 2 years. I was able to get away, so it is just us which we made it work. When someone gets that sick, friends no longer help or call because they do not know what to do. I traveled weekly for work as a consultant and he was alone most of the time. He has terrible PTSD and screams out at night.

Because my job ended in April, I was to be home all the time as I looked for a job. I saw how bad it was for him. Working with his new doctor, he is getting the help he needs. With no job for 9 months, I went through all of my 401K and savings to keep current on the bills. I have not missed paying a bill in 22 years. I ran out of money and cannot get equity out of the house unless I have a job. Being a single mom and only income with no support system, it makes things so much harder.

We started writing a book to help others going through a similar experience what is needed to find the timely solution and help to understand the medical system and how the issue needs to get handled in a timely manner.
