My name is Mihir, and in 2024-2025, I was a victim of rape, physical abuse, sexual assault, and kidnapping. As a result of the abuse, my lumbar spine, my sacrum, and my SI joint were damaged, making it so I need to use a wheelchair. My abuser initially offered to pay the medical bills, and they did for a bit. After covering $1009, they stopped. I confronted them, they committed again, and even wrote out a contract. A month later, they stopped again. This will go towards paying for the medical treatment necessary to treat my spinal damage and the pain it causes, as well as covering a new wheelchair that actually suits my needs and allows me to use it to the frequency I need it without hurting me. Anything that exceeds the goal or ends up not being necessary due to unforeseen circumstances (for example if my rapist suddenly does cover the bills either by choice or by court order, if insurance retroactively covers something, or if I’m suddenly able to afford it by myself) all extra proceeds will go towards a charity (tbd) that supports fellow survivors. Ideally it will be for helping lgbtq+ survivors or survivors in need of getting medical assistance to treat damage left from their abuse
