Help Pay Nash’s Medical Bills

This beautful boy is Nash, my 13 year old flame point Siamese I rescued 11 years ago. He lives here with his brothers Crazy Dave, General Tao, Possum and their sister DandyLion.

On the evening of Tuesday Aug 3rd, I was ready to go to bed when I realized Nash was acting strange and making a whiny noise. So I stopped to watch him and noticed he couldn’t get comfortable. He started audibly crying out loud so I called Walker Road emergency animal hospital and they suggested I bring him in. Upon arrival, they said that he was experiencing a blocked urethra and would need to get it flushed. Everything was going fine and he was expected to come home late August 5. They removed the catheter and then called me 2 hours later to say that the blockage is happening again and that they may need to keep him longer. Then early, 3am August 6 they called and said his bladder is swollen to the size of an orange and that he will need surgery to fix it.

My initial assessment was for $2500, but now with the surgery my bill will be over $5000 and it’s just not financially feasible for me. I’m single, live alone, and recently (February 2021) lost my job due to covid. I truly believe in working hard and taking care of your own business and it mortifies me to even be filling this out, but I need help. I don’t wanna put him down, he is such a strong handsome loving boy. The nurses all say he is the sweetest boy they’ve ever seen and that he hasn’t growled, hissed or even swatted away anyone performing these procedures and that how he just wants belly rubs and to be held. Crushes me that I cannot be there with him.

They are trying to get his surgery done today August 6 or tomorrow August 7 and I have to pay for it in advance. I hope you understand how awful I feel to have to ask for help, but I’m only doing it because I love Nashy so much and I just want him to come home :(
