This is my cat Mika. This cat, for the 5+ years I've had her, has helped me through bad times and amplified good times. After a bad day, at least I knew and could look forward to her cuddling with me in bed.

Now comes the bad part. I noticed about 2 weeks ago that she looked and felt skinny. I made an appointment with the vet in Grafton, which said she weighed 5.6 pounds. That's what she weighed when she got fixed at around 7 months old. After blood, urine, and stool tests, they found nothing that could explain it. She wouldn't eat dry food, so I started giving her wet food, which she ate for a while. Then we come to Friday night and Saturday morning. She didn't eat all her wet food I gave her, which is not like her at all. I also noticed she was off balance and fell while walking numerous times. At this point, I took her to the emergency vet at Cheat Lake in Morgantown. I sat there nervously for 5 hours as their blood results didn't show anything either. I let her stay overnight to get some care and electrolytes as she was dehydrated. Sunday morning, I got the call from the doctor that she found a mass in her throat that is likely causing the eating issue. The doctor told me she thinks it's cancerous. As one can expect, this was not the news I wanted to hear. Today they are doing a biopsy on the mass to determine if it's cancerous or not. Luckily, she should get to come home today, but the results won't be back for roughly a week.

As you can expect, my bill for this is through the roof and depending on next steps, can go even higher. This is the part where I ask for any help, as much as I don't want to. Update 1: my girl is back home with a whole pharmacy of meds for her to take until the biopsy comes back. She has a head tilt and is super off balance but hoping these meds help until the results come back. Thank you all for your help and support!

Update 2: I got the call from the vet for the biopsy results and it was my worst fear. Mika has late stage and aggressive lymphoma. Im gonna try to make her last days happy ones before I have to say goodbye. Thank you all for your help and support.

Final update: today on 12/11 Mika passed peacefully. As one can expect today was hard and the coming days getting used to her not being here will be even harder. Thank you to everyone for your help.
