Medical bills for Mike

Mike was born with his heart and other organs on the opposite side of his body. His major vessels were in the wrong places and he only has 3 chambers instead of 4 in his heart. He has undergone open heart surgery 8 times over the years with the first one being when he was just a few days old. Kids born with congenital heart conditions in the 80s were not expected to live this long and it is proving so now.

Mike went into the hospital a few days ago because he knew something was wrong, extremely weak he barely could make it the 30 min drive to the hospital in Texas where he lives. Michael is in the hospital currently undergoing tests trying to figure out what his next steps are. He is bleeding internally somewhere and has needed several units of blood and iron transfusions just to keep him alive. Among other things they are having difficulty running the right tests/scopes because of his heart and how anesthesia affects him. On top of all of this Michael is uninsured which in its self seems to be NOT motivating the doctors to find the cause of his problems and fixing them. Mike isn’t sick enough to qualify for disability and therefore does not qualify for Medicare and he isn’t poor enough to be on Medicaid but barely making ends meet for his family. He will probably kill me for even posting any of this and asking for assistance because he is a very modest private person and doesn’t want to inconvenience anyone especially during the holidays, but he needs your help.
