Help pay medical expenses for Talley Kerklin

Donation protected

Hey guys. Talley Reneé Kerklin was born via emergency C-section at 25 weeks and weighing 2 pounds and .1 ounces. Being so early, she wasn't ready to survive on her own. She was finally sent home at 38 gestational weeks, 3 days short of 3 months old in actual age. She's already started out with a level 4 brain bleed. The bleeds stopped, but Talley was having some issues with draining the fluid properly. The neurosurgeon implanted a reservoir that they could use to tap the fluid to aid in drainage and relieve the pressure on her brain. They tapped for a week and have been happy with her progress ever since. She's what they consider a chronic lung disease patient, because of her oxygen requirements. She developed ROP, retinopathy of prematurity also and required laser surgery to save partial peripheral vision and prevent her retinas from detaching. She is finally home, still on oxygen for an unknown amount of time. And breaking 8 pounds. She faces an uncertain future of delays and will likely require any of several physical therapies to get back to a normal development track. Mom is home with her, but had to use some of her leave time to cover her own surgical recovery, so she will only get 4 of her only 6 weeks of maternity leave paid. She'll then have to go back to work. The hospital bills alone already are over $100,000, and the continuing medical treatments and therapies will keep adding up. Insurance will cover some, but who knows how much. This could be going on for years. We also can't foresee yet how much care she may need at home, or even if Mom can even go back to work any time soon. Talley is a fighter and is doing her best, and we will do everything we have to so that she will grow up healthy and happy. Talley's got a 2 year old brother and a 10 year old sister at home, too, that love her very much. The family is at last together. Any help to keep Talley's progress moving forward, and our happy family together is greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless!
