This is Scott's fund, my paragraph.
I am writing this in support of my brother, Scott Blanchette. On January 5th, Scott received a stage four aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis. As most know, with such a diagnosis comes extra expenses, such as medical bills, medications, surgeries, and lost wages, which will quickly deplete any savings that they may have. Scott and Andrea have already begun to feel the stress and strain of this disease, physically, emotionally, and financially! Scott has dedicated his career to barbing, and anyone that works in this field knows that if you are not cutting hair every day, you are not getting paid. Barbers do not have benefits or supplemental insurance to help cover medical bills, let alone help you support your family. Scott is currently taking Bicalutamide, a medication to help lower his testosterone, which this type of cancer feeds on. This medication is the first of many he may receive, as his journey begins with the disease. Scott will be scheduled for surgery with MD Anderson Cancer Center. There will be a lengthy recovery period with the first 6 to 8 weeks on bed rest, followed by little to light movement for the next six months, then hopefully back to normal by 12 months. During this time, Scott will not be able to work; thereby, he will have no income to help cover medical expenses or to help support his wife Andrea and their two sons, Gunner and Jacob. We are asking for your help! Please help us ease some of the stress and burden for Scott and his family during this time.
Thank you for your support and prayers. God Bless you all.
