Help Pay Matt's Cremation and Memorial Services

Hello everyone, yesterday I lost a good friend whom I've known for over a decade, 7 people, 2 of whom are just in elementary and middle school lost their father... and ultimately Matthew Armstrong lost his battle for his life.

Matt's health became a battle and started from an aortic aneurysm found about 2 years ago, his first surgery was in May 2020 and since then he fought hard so that he could ne a father to and take care of his 2 youngest children whom he had full-time custody of at that time. During this 2 year long battle,  Matt suffered 3 aortic aneurysms in which the 3rd aortic aneurysm surgery was performed in September of 2021.

The last surgery performed on Matt was a special surgery. The FDA made a stent specifically designed for Matt after authorizing the surgery in which the stent would be inserted; this particular surgery is not authorized here in the US, only in Europe except for trial cases on the East Coast of the US. Matt was the first person on the West Coast (of the US) to be approved by the FDA for this surgery. Unfortunately, despite what great efforts were made to help Matt, this surgery resulted in Matthew being left paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, Matt was unable to ever make it back home and remained hospitalized since the month of September 2021.

During his remaining days that were lived out being bedridden in hospitals, due to the Covid regulations and rules brought upon all hospitals, seeing his children had proven to be difficult if not impossible as his children were placed in care of the mother's family, family that was unable to be reached, therefore Matt was unable to have them at his bedside during the last months of his life.

His beloved dog Ma, whom he loved just as much as his children was also unable to come and join him in the hospital to see Matt, something he begged for. If the inability to give a dying man something he desired so much wasn't heartbreaking enough, having to see Matt's only option in alleviating his loneliness in the hospital by finding peace in a stuffed animal, a toy dog that he called Ma, naming it in honor of his dog that was not allowed to visit; whenever I walked out his room this broke my heart everything and brought tears to my eyes that I would never dare let Matt see.

Matt held this doll in his final days as seen in the photo below. Yesterday (January 12th, 2021) at 4:54pm Matthew Armstrong took his last breath.

This fundraiser is to help pay Matthew Armstrong's cremation, which is set at $1500, cremation with a service is set at $3500 which is why I have goal amount at $3500, something we can only hope for! At the moment accumulating $1500 just for Matt's cremation would suffice.

Thank you all in advance for taking the time in reading this, and if you are able to help with a donation thank you so much more, but just reposting and/or sharing this crowdfunding event would be more than enough.
