Hello, my name is Bethany and this fundraiser is for my dad, Tommy. I wanted to start a Go Fund Me for my dad because he is in a very difficult medical situation. I know he has touched so many lives in ways big and small and would do anything to help people. Now, he and our family are in a position to ask for help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Tommy and Susie have been married for over 31 years and have 3 children. Tommy pastored at Hillsville Baptist Church for over a decade and later became the interim pastor at Friendly Baptist before moving into sales at Furnitureland South. One thing consistent about Tommy has been the mark he makes on the lives of people in his path. No one has ever spent more than a few minutes around him before hearing about Jesus. Tommy was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a little over 8 years ago. He continued on - full speed ahead - despite difficulties and never bemoaned the fact that he had been stricken with this disease. About 2 years ago, he became unable to work, but was still holding up under many symptoms. This past May, Tommy, and Susie learned that he had MSA - Multiple System Atrophy - Parkinson's type. The doctors are saying that for all these years he has had MSA and that many of the symptoms mirror Parkinson's. MSA, however, is fatal. Tommy had been handling the challenges of this disease steadily but took a turn for the worse not long ago. Hospice is lending their support, but he has to have full-time care when Susie and Sawyer are at work and school. This Go-Fund-Me is meant to offset the cost of an hourly caregiver for the foreseeable future. Thank you for any help you can give, including and most importantly - your prayers
