Help Pay for Thor's Emergency Vet Bills

On Monday, January 4th, Thor was viciously attacked in his backyard by a neighbor’s dog. The dog lives three houses down and used snow that piled up in the corner of the yard to get out. Justin heard a commotion from upstairs and ran down to save Thor. After multiple attempts at getting the pit bull off Thor, Justin resorted to grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing the dog before the dog finally retreated and ran back home. Thor sustained major wounds to his right leg, throat, and his head. He has a long recovery ahead of him, as does the family. Justin has a bruised hand from punching the dog and a puncture wound on his other hand from the dog biting him.

 

Justin was home alone with his two daughters when the event took place. It left the family traumatized and Thor fighting for his life.

 

The owners of the dog are not claiming responsibility for the accident so Justin and Leisha are left to pay for the vet bills. Currently, they have paid over $1,500 to the ER vet with more to come in the near future. They have filed a report with Washoe County Animal Services and are working with them on the investigation.

Leisha is currently a stay-at-home mom who takes care of their 6 month old baby and 8 year old daughter.
