This is my best friend Stella. Stella is a very sweet 7 year old former stray who enjoys cheek rubs, crinkly toys, and sleeping on top of me. I adopted her during lockdown and she has gotten me through some very difficult times. She is a very tough little cat who has had a lot of health issues, but we've gotten her through them all and she has handled everything like a champ.

This past Christmas she developed an intestinal lesion and a part of her intestine collapsed. This required surgery to remove part of her small intestine. Stella surprised everyone by recovering and coming home a week before expected, just in time to be the life of the party on Christmas Day. The bill for her treatment came to about $6000, and I am still paying it off. Since then, we've been trying to figure out what caused this episode. In addition she has had ongoing issues with diarrhea and vomiting, as well as unexplained weight loss. This has meant running multiple tests that added up to just under four thousand dollars. A few weeks ago we figured out she had small cell lymphoma, and she will be seeing the vet for treatment every 2 weeks for the foreseeable future. The vet is optimistic about her outcome if she is able to continue her treatment, but the bills are becoming steep at this point. These are the monthly costs I'm currently facing;

$530 a month for previous bills - I will be paying this off for about 2 years
$280 a month for ongoing care at home
$180 for ongoing vet visits every two weeks - this may go down if less frequent visits are required

I have already been struggling to pay off her previous bills, and these new ones are more than I can handle. Stella is my family and I love her more than anything. She has been through so much, and she deserves to live a happy, normal life.

If you can, please help out with Stella's treatment.

UPDATE: I've been able to bring Stella to her next chemo appointment. The vet says her bloodwork is looking good and her weight is stable. Her vomiting has stopped and she has perked up in the last week. She still has a long way to go, but thanks to the help I've received here I've been able to get her through this month.

UPDATE August 8: Money has been pretty tight this month, but I've managed to get Stella to her next chemo appointment. She's having a few side effects from the treatment, but overall she is doing very well, things are continuing to progress. Her appetite came back with a vengeance this week, and we've been having a few play sessions (along with nonstop cuddles). I am worried about paying for her next treatment, but it's been wonderful to see her getting better.
