Dental Surgery Funds for Socks the Cat

Donation protected
Hello - I am one of many community cat colony feeders in the west Berkeley area. There is a sweet cat named Socks who lives with other cats at the Berkeley Marine Center. The kind folks there provide food, shelters and lots of love. Recently their primary caretaker noticed that Socks had the tip of his tongue showing and that he appeared to be in pain while eating. I took Socks to El Cerrito Veterinary Care, where Dr. Buttar diagnosed feline stomatitis, which is a very painful condition in which the mouth and gums become extremely inflamed. Dr. Buttar had to extract 13 teeth. Dr. Buttar kindly capped the dental at $2800; it was going to be over $3000.

The good news is that Socks is on the mend! He'll never bear pain like he did. He is back at his home under the loving and watchful eyes of his primary caretaker.

Socks's veterinary bills totaled $3,202.38. This includes his initial examination, blood work and extractions. Over the years I've been trapping and feeding cats I've spent over $10,000 on veterinary care and probably more on food. I'm stretched thin, so I thought I would ask for help paying Socks's vet bill. There are so many kind and genoerous people out there and I'd like to ask for any donation amount. For transparency, I am including photos of the receipts.

Thank you so much for reading Socks's story. He's very much loved by everyone who meets him.
