On June 28,2024 I was misdiagnosed at HCA Houston Northwest ER immediately after a nearly fatal attack on my life. I fell into toxic shock/sepsis. Three days later, I was admitted to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, fully expected to die. Nearly four months later, I was wheeled out. I underwent shoulder and hip disarticulations and left fingers and forearm amputation. I lost half of my body. I require a 24/7 caretaker for all aspects of life to survive.
I am now in the process of rehabilitation to regain my independence. Also, I am going through the process of being fitted with artificial limbs/prosthetics. My coverage is very limited as I only have insurance coverage through Medicaid.
My dream is to rebuild myself by being fitted with myoelectric prosthetic limbs and a partial hand to replace my left fingers. I hope to be able to work with hand and power tools and ride motorcycles again as I had done my entire life before amputation.
If you have it in your heart, please make a donation, big or small, to help pay for prosthetics. Thank you and God bless you.
