Help pay for Owen's medical bills

This is my little cousin, Owen. He is an energetic and cheerful young man who has never failed to make anyone laugh. He is a third grader at Union East Elementary. A few weeks ago, he was diagnosed with GERD and has been sent home from school multiple times since then for vomiting. He slept all day this Saturday, so he was taken to Urgent Care to get checked up. At around 4 a.m. on Monday, he fell out of bed. He was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital and put on fluids. After 15 minutes of being at the hospital, he had a seizure and lost some mobility on the right side of his body.

It was determined that he had a blood clot in his brain, which required emergency surgery. Only a portion of the clot was able to be removed, so he was placed on heparin and anti-seizure medication. He is being monitored 24/7 with a seizure monitor so that any activity can be recorded and acted upon. It can be taken off once 24 hours have passed with no seizures.

On Tuesday, the day after the surgery, they had to put down their dog, Ace. His legs were in bad shape, he couldn't walk right, and he was only going to get worse if things went on.

On Wednesday, the monitor picked up three small seizures overnight, and they added more anti-seizure medication. Thursday was followed by two small seizures overnight, and Owen is still showing weakness in his right side. He is fighting his way through, but he is definitely in pain. It will be a long road ahead of him.

Insurance is not helping either. It was paid in full yet marked as late, and coverage was dropped a week before this whole ordeal. My cousin Ricky (Rich Lennertz) and his fiancé (Sara Maxwell) are exhausted and are struggling to keep their small business afloat, with both of them being at Owen's side. They hate to ask for help, but it's looking like they will need it.
