Oliver, my 3 year Olde English Bulldog had to be rushed to the emergency clinic for heat stroke which led to multiple seizures. Being that my main concern was to make sure that he would be ok I spent everything I had which has left me beyond financially strained. Oliver is like a child to me and a huge part of our family so nothing was more important to me than ensuring he was going to be alright.
Also, when I got back home from being out of town. I saw my 9 year old Siamese mix cat Eva limping. She can’t support any weight on her front right paw. Neither of my roommates had any idea how this had happened. So I had to take her into the veterinary hospital today. They did X-rays and determined that she had damaged a nerve in her armpit area. They said to give her pain meds with each meal and see how she is in a week. If Eva isn’t better by then, we have to take her to a specialist and have them determine if it is an injury that is repairable with surgery or if she will have nerve damage and walk with a limp for the rest of her life. This bill ended up being around $325 and we will see if we have to go to the specialist next week for more diagnostics and treatment for my kitty.
Im seeking donations to help financially recover from these unexpected emergency situations.
While I was out of town, in Montana, my central air went out, on Sunday August 22nd. The third day into my trip.
Oliver had been let outside because of how hot it was in the house. Both of my roommates believed Oliver had been let back inside the house and was hiding out in my cooler bedroom, as he likes to lay under the bed. Unfortunately that was not the case, Oliver was outside for a little over an hour. With the breed he is, he overheats very easily. When one of my roommates went outside to find Oliver was having heat stroke and convulsions. My roommates started to cool him down with the hose and then put him in the bath tub, but realized he had to be rushed to the ER Vet. He would seem fine and then rapidly decline and start to seize again. They said Oliver needed intensive care and fluids and that he would hopefully make it through the night. I was terrified and couldn’t do anything, being so far away from Florida. All I could do was give my debit and credit card numbers over the phone, have panic attacks, cry, and hope my sweet young boy would be ok. Thank God Oliver is a tough and healthy young doggy. He made it out alright. Happy to wag his little nub of a tail and leave the vets the next morning.
All this happened on a Sunday night so the bill was very expensive. In the end the vet bill was almost $2400. Leaving me with barely anything financially.
Also the new AC Handler and Compressor is going to cost $1500 up front to get installed. The person installing it is allowing me to make payments for his labor over time. We are currently staying cool in the house now because I bought a powerful window AC unit from Best Buy to get us by temporarily.
Also, since that all happened I don’t have enough money for this months electric bill which is $325 or my mortgage which is a little under $1000.
So to say the least I have had a series of unfortunate incidents put me in a very financially declining situation. Also it has taken a major toll on me. I’m beyond overwhelmed and ridden with anxiety. When it rains it pours.
I work very hard, full time, to provide for myself and my animals and have never had to reach out for assistance like this before. I have some stuff I can try to sell and make some money but am not sure how much yet. But I’m trying to stay positive and trudge through this chaos.
I would appreciate any and all help anyone can provide to help me and my household get through this very difficult time.
I will do anything to provide labor or service for donations given. Also I can provide documents showing the cost of all the expenses I have stated above.
Thank you in advance for anyone who can donate anything to help get us back on track.
