My 23 month old Doberman Nero was attacked at the dog park by another dog. He has a lot of superficial scratch marks and bite wounds but one puncture abscessed and burst creating a giant hole in his side almost as large has a quarter. It was not only large but deep - coming very close to reaching his chest cavity. On 12/3/2018 the vet says he requires surgery, drains put in, and lots of antibiotics. The abscess was starting to harden so surgery was needed immediately. 

Most vets here will do nothing to help your dog without payment upfront but this very kind vet said he would do the surgery even though I did not have the funds to pay right then but I needed to be able to pay him in full when I picked Nero up. 

Besides what has happened today Nero is an extremely healthy dog and if we can get him through this surgery there is no reason he shouldn't live a long healthy, happy life.

It is very hard for me to ask for help but I am injured and bedridden and  have not been able to work for 8 months.  I live on worker's comp which is only 2/3s my normal wage, while still having to pay 1/3 of the back to my employer to cover my health insurance and benefits.  I don't even get enough money to pay my rent but I always make sure to take care of my dogs.  I buy their top quality dog food even if it sometimes means I can't get groceries for myself.  I have been just getting by these past months and am unable to pay this large vet bill.

I want you to know exactly what I am asking for donations for so here is a list of what they have told me Nero needs:

He will also need to be fitted with various apparatuses during his healing period
He will need drugs to keep him quiet during his healing period
He will need multiple rechecks
He will need an appointment to get the drain removed
He has needed a second identical surgery to the one listed above
And anything else that comes up during his surgery and/or recovery.

I would do anything for any of my dogs and I am here begging for anything you can spare to help my Nero.  It would mean the world.   He is the sweetest dog who has so much love to give.  Please help us if you can.
