Murph's Surgery Expenses

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

As you may have heard, my cat Murph needed emergency surgery last night on 11/2. Leading up to this... I knew something wasn't right with her. Out of nowhere she seemed very lethargic and sick, and kept trying to throw up, but nothing would come out. I took her to my local vet immediately, where they ran blood work and prescribed anti-nausea medicine and told me wait and see if she improves in a few days.

The very next day, I could tell that something more serious was going on. I was not willing to wait it out, so I took her to a vet in Lancaster, where they did some X-rays. The X-rays showed concerning signs of some sort of blockage in her stomach. But they couldn't perform the surgery she needed that night, so I was sent to a third vet within 24 hours who could perform Murph's surgery. I was already going through a rough week, and this nearly broke me. Thankfully, Murph should be ok. She had a massive wad of fur stuck between her stomach and her intestine, blocking all her food from being digested. I am so glad I trusted my gut and got her checked out when I did. The cost to help save Murph was far more expensive than I imagined, but it was never a question whether I'd pay or not.

As you may know, I also just got a new kitten named Tars. Tars already has had his share of medical issues too, and I also had to take him to the vet this week because he was sick with a bad upper respiratory infection. Between both cats and all the visits, meds, and surgery, I've had to spend over $5,300 the last 7 days to help get my kitties feeling better. It's been a very hard week for me filled with terrible circumstances, all while trying to balance working, and driving all over the place to get my kitties checked out. As you can imagine, this is a lot for all at once.

I always share lots of pictures and videos of both my cats, and I know a lot of people out there love them too! I feel weird asking for anything but will welcome the support for those who want to help. I set my goal on this page to cover most of Murph's surgery expenses, this does not include her bills for the blood test, X-rays, and medicine. If you are able to donate just a small amount, anything helps. Even just sharing this link.

Please send your love to Murph as she recovers from her surgery, while she is still trying to adjust to the new kitten at home. She will continue to be monitored at the vet until Saturday when I can hopefully bring her home.

Thank you!

Love,
Rachel
