Hi, my name is Emily Sanchez. My aunt in Mexico, Miriam Sanchez, had COVID-19 back in October 2020, but was rushed to the emergency room because she was struggling to breathe. She was very sick for about a month before she started to recover. Soon after, my aunt noticed a bump forming on her neck that began growing and becoming painful to touch. The doctors discovered a tumor in between the two arteries that supply oxygenated blood from the heart to the brain, which is why she was having a hard time fighting the coronavirus. In the next few months, my aunt will need surgery to remove the growing tumor, or it is likely that she will have a stroke from the blockage of her arteries, preventing blood from reaching her brain. However, the procedure costs 1 million Mexican pesos, or around $50,000 U.S. dollars. My family and I ask that you help us raise $40k for Miriam's procedure as soon as possible so that she can get her tumor surgically removed.
