Hello, everyone... my name is July Kirkpatrick, and I had the pleasure of knowing Melanie Mouat via a Minecraft server which we ran together at times. We had known each other for what has been now over six years. We Skyped, we wrote, gave gifts to each other, called for hours, toiled over keyboards, and so much more. And we never even met in real life. On the evening of Thursday November fourth, at around 10:30 PM, Melanie Mouat lost control of her vehicle, dying in a car crash a short distance from her home. She had just turned twenty-four years old.
Melanie had a deep, loving, and nurturing nature. She had a deep connection with her father, mother, grandmother, and brother, their wellbeing always being of discussion. She cared for two dogs, and loved each moment with them.
A moral authority, Melanie actively sought and fought not only for equality, but equity for all. She advocated that all deserved love, with hatred was for nobody. Humanity was never up for debate with her. She saw all people as being worthy of fairness.
The head-admin of a Minecraft server, Melanie also left behind a community of people who looked up to her, with whom she regularly interacted. In game, Melanie strove to make each player's experience not only decent, but enjoyable. Beyond that, though, she saw each player for being a person. And she connected with them accordingly.
I will be opening a memorial channel on our Minecraft server's Discord - feel free to join and leave a message there. I will be relaying each to Melanie's family. Thank you all.
