We never thought we would be in this position. Our mom, Maria F. Palomino, was diagnosed with Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma earlier this year. She has been so strong and positive through it all, but unfortunately the cancer was too aggressive and too far advanced for her to overcome. We are so grateful for the amazing team of doctors and nurses at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for taking such good care of her and making her last days as comfortable as possible.

We want to thank everyone who has come to say goodbye to her, made her smile, and been here to comfort our family. She has been so happy these past few days and is truly the strongest one in the room. Her warm, motherly love and support that she has provided not only for her family and friends, but to everyone that has been put in her life, is the reason so many people have grown to care for her and appreciate how selfless and genuine she has always been. To say she is underserving of this unforseen diagnosis is an understatement. During these hard times, our dad who is and always has been the only provider for our family, has been out of work to be with his best friend, wife and soulmate during her last days. The money raised will be used to cover hospital bills, funeral expenses and any other expenses that come along with this tragic part of life.
