Help Pay for Macho's Lifesaving Surgery

Hi all! Macho is a senior rescue who was surrendered by his previous owners, most likely due to negligence to his health issues – he is partly blind and requires meds for his eyes. We believe he is about 11 years old when we adopted him from Wise Animal Rescue in June 2019, and immediately fell in love with him the moment we saw his adorable underbite and playful personality.
Macho is truly such an amazing, special dog. He’s sweet, playful, laid back, snuggly, trusting, loves getting his belly rubbed, playing with his squeaky toys, and cozying up in his bed, which he sleeps in every night, tucked in with a blanket and all! We’re so glad that we were able to rescue Macho and can give him the home that he deserves as he lives out his golden years.
Recently, we noticed Macho wasn't being his playful self and was unable to walk without falling over. We immediately took Macho to the vet where he went through extensive testing, various medications, and emergency vet visits to finally pinpoint what the issue was, which has resulted in the costs being as high as they are. Macho was ultimately diagnosed with a ruptured disc and required immediate surgery, or he would be paralyzed and in pain for the remainder of his life.
This has been a huge financial undertaking, but we of course would never say no to making sure that Macho, or any of our dogs, receive the best medical care possible – they are our family members.
