Hi, I’ve never done a go fund me before so bear with me .

My beautiful , loving dog Lucy recently had major surgery that was required to save her life. On Friday 11/26/21 I woke up to find Lucy wheezing for some unknown reason . Lucy had been perfectly healthy the day before and I was really unsure what her issue was . Upon taking her to the vet they discovered she had a spontaneous pneumothorax that had filled her chest cavity with air causing a collapsed lung . My vet attempted a chest tap to release the air which worked but unfortunately her chest filled back up. My vet suspected a rare condition in which a bullae bubble in her lung may have burst causing the air to leak into chest. I had to rush Lucy to Mass vet animal hospital and there they told me she needed surgery or I would have to put her down . Lucy is only 7 and such a huge part of my families life I had to give her a chance . The surgery was successful and she stayed at the animal hospital for several days recovering . This obviously came at a huge cost. The vet bills and surgery cost approx $13,000 and I had to open a care credit card to cover them. Several of my friends mentioned starting a go fund me to help defer some of these costs and also incase Lucy needs some more follow up care I’ll be able to afford these costs . So here I am , asking for a little help from those far and wide . I hope to raise the money not thru huge donations (I’ll take those too ) but thru lots of small donations from lots of different people . So if you can donate thank you …. If you can’t I completely understand . Feel free to share this with any dog lovers and dog associations you may know , every little bit helps .
