Help Pay For Laylas Hospital Needs

Donation protected
On June 3rd 2024 I was getting ready to leave my house to go visit family, when I noticed my dog wasn’t in my house. I usually take her with me whenever I leave the house so I immediately noticed once I was leaving. I thought that she might’ve snuck out while my family members were bringing stuff to the car so I went outside and i started looking for her on my street and calling her name when suddenly I heard people screaming behind my street. I went to my backyard— still calling her name. And a lady yells over to me saying she was on the other side of the bushes hurt. I went through the bushes so fast for Layla and I seen her there on the floor dragging herself. Not able to use her back legs.. I was so distraught I fell on the floor with her crying and I called the police and emergency vet asap. She was attacked by a bigger dog, that was our neighbors, was what happened. We brought her to the doctors immediately and eventually they told us she is paralyzed from the waist down…. Nothing broke my heart more in my entire life than hearing that come out the doctors mouth. The doctor told us to help Layla better and to help them know more about what’s wrong with her, that we would need X-Rays and an MRI done, followed up with a (very) potential surgery… the problem with that was that it came out to a total of $16,000. The only other option was putting her to sleep or bringing her home as is. There was no way that I was able to put my baby to sleep.. I told them I’ll just take her with me. She has been on bed rest since and has to be helped with expressing her bladder so that she can urinate being that she can’t do it herself. She doesn’t want to eat but thankfully is drinking lots of water still. We have her on medication .. but that is about it. She is helpless but is strong and still hanging in there. I’ve had this dog since I was in 1st grade and I’m now going into my freshman year of college. This dog means more to me than anything else in this world. I cannot imagine being without her so soon this way. I always told myself growing up that I should be able to keep her by my side until I graduate college. At least knowing she’ll be leaving from old age knowing she had a long beautiful life, sounded better to me. But her going like this? No. She deserves more. She is such a good dog and so loyal. Please if you can help in any way even if it’s a couple dollars. Any little thing is appreciated. Most importantly I ask for your prayers for her and the family. Thank you so much.
