Hi, my name is Vanessa. I started this GoFundMe Campaign for my girlfriend Keri. She was in an accident on January 4th where she dislocated her knee while walking across black ice. This caused her knee to get lodged on the side of her leg damaging major ligaments and tendons. When she fell, the force of the fall caused her ankle to dislocate and break. Unfortunately, she has a long road to recovery and will undergo at least two surgeries over the next few months. She will then have to go through physical therapy for both her knee and ankle.

Keri's injuries might have been much less severe if it hadn't been for medical malpractice. When I called the ambulance, the paramedic down-played how seriously broken her leg was and refused to take her to the ER. On our way home, Keri passed out from pain 2 times in my arms. So, I called the ambulance a second time and she was finally taken in. We do have an active report on the paramedic and will be taking legal action.

Keri is a hard-working college student and unfortunately, had to drop her Spring semester classes to focus on recovery. She is also now unable to work. Simple trips to the bathroom in our apartment are extremely painful for her. So, I've been her caretaker 24/7 since she came out of the emergency room. This was such a sudden and traumatic experience that we didn't expect to drastically change the course of our plans for 2022.

We really need some support paying for her upcoming medical bills and other recovery costs.
