Meet Kaia.
She is an 18 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
On December 11th Kaia disappeared from her front yard. Her frantic 21 year old owner believed she had been stolen.
She was found on December 29th, thin, cold and having multiple injuries. She had most likely been hit by a car. Unfortunately her left front elbow was damaged beyond repair and is being amputated today. Kaia should be able to live a full life as a "tripod" and there is no question that she will be loved.
Her owner was able to pay the money for her initial veterinary expenses but needs help with the additional cost of the surgery.
A number of people in the Chesapeake Bay Retriever community have stepped forward to help Kaia and her owner. Because she has an owner, she is not an ACC rescue dog, so funds from the rescue cannot be used for her surgery.
Can you help by donating $10 to Kaia's surgery fund? For the cost of two cups of coffee, you can help Kaia and his owner put their best foot (paw) forward in 2017.
Any additional money raised will be donated to the ACC rescue to assist dogs with medical needs.
