Hello friends,
Our lovely boy Finn had a rough start in life but was thankfully rescued as a kitten by Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue (VOKRA) when he was only a few days old.
We adopted Finn into our family in 2021 and have seen him grow into a happy boy, full of energy and mischief. He loves to play, catch treats, chase his siblings and generally loves his life. He is specially bonded with his older brother Sheldon.
On November 30th, his second birthday, Finn suddenly began to vomit and became unusually quiet. After closely monitoring him for a day, as he was still unwell, we took him to our vet, where he was then referred to Canada West Veterinary Hospital. Finn was diagnosed with intestinal intussusception and had surgery that day to save his life. A significant portion of his intestine was removed, as it had degraded and was no longer functional. The surgery was performed successfully, but a lot of aftercare is still required to stabilize his condition, and he remains in intensive care.
We received an updated estimate today (December 4th) for Finn's care; the total has exceeded $10,000. Can West is still managing his care, as his condition remains critical.
That’s why we’re reaching out to friends, the community and any animal lovers who may have it in their hearts to support Finn on his road to recovery. We are reluctant to ask for help but are asking in Finn’s name for any support you could offer, to help him live a normal, healthy life.
Thank you from all of us.
