Help pay for Edith's vet bills
Donation protected

Edith is just over a year old now, and very precious to us, we adopted her in November 2023 and we’re the second home she’s had in her very short life.
She was abandoned with her siblings at a factory where they were cared for by staff until they were taken into a rescue. Edith’s fist home didn’t work out because their elderly dog was not coping well with having another dog in the house, and so she came to us, initially as a foster and we fell hopelessly in love with her, so we adopted her.
Edith became quite poorly in May this year, and after extensive tests, was diagnosed with leishmaniasis. It is a flea borne disease that affects the tissue and organs.
Despite being good pet owners and taking out the premium pet insurance plan offered by Emporium, we only found out when we submitted our claims, that leishmaniasis is specifically excluded from cover.
We were relieved to have a diagnosis, and the right treatment to get Edith back to enjoying her life, but we are unable to cover the full costs. We’ve had to take out a credit card and other loans to cover only a portion of her bill, but these of course have to be paid back at some point and we’re still short. Our heartfelt thanks to Vets for Pets for their patience and understanding as we make our payments in very slow instalments.
We would be so grateful for any donations to help us cover the cost and can provide Edith’s vet bill as proof of treatment.
