- Almost 2 years ago, Aidan was experiencing extreme back pain all down his spine. His mom, Mary saw multiple doctors who all said she was overreacting and it was just growing pains. Mary didn’t listen and followed her gut, which led to Aidan’s diagnosis of ewing’s sarcoma. He had a large mass wrapped in his spinal cord that prohibited his ability to walk and stand correctly until it was removed. Aidan went through 1 year of intensive chemotherapy and radiation. He rang the bell at the end declaring himself cancer free. Aidan was still regularly going for checkups and they found another mass. Although the chances of this happening were high, he and his family and friends were heartbroken. He now needs a specific type of radiation because his tumor is less than 1 mm away from his spinal cord. He’s at high risk for permanent spinal cord damage and the insurance is out of network, so the $15,000 payment is due upfront before treatment can start. Mary and My Mom, Annette, have been friends for 35 years, since 6th grade. Subsequently, My siblings and I grew up with Aidan and his siblings. It was always the 6 of us, whether we went to a state fair and rode in a Cinderella carriage, or stayed home and drank root beers pretending to be adults with our play houses. Aidan has always been the light in every room he’s in, and that hasn’t stopped. Even in his hardships dealing with a potentially fatal cancer, he’s stayed strong for himself and his family, especially his mom Mary. The least we can do is help with their medical debt. Any and all donations are gratefully accepted, so thank you all!
