Help pay and fight stage 4 cancer

Hello, this is Travis Batt, Dewight Batt's son,

to all of those who do know and to those who do not know my father, Dewight Batt, thank you for taking the time to read this and visit this page.

As of 3/29/2023 my dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer that has metastasized to his liver, spine, rib cage, left femur, both sides of his pelvic bone, and left shoulder.

Dewight is a father of 3 kids and a husband to an amazing wife Colleen. He has the one adventrueous life. He grew up here in good ole Englewood, Colorado. Ever since he was a kid he enjoyed the outdoors with his dad. He grew up hunting and fishing and taking any kind of adventure. He would always go to Cherry Creek Reservoir for his adventures as a kid and eventually adventured even further. He has always been an avid outdoorsman and brought his love and passion to his children, Ginger, Zach and Travis. Despite the age differences between his children, they all were brought together by his passion, the outdoors. If there is one thing he was known for, it is his hunting adventures. He would always make sure he would go on hunting trips either right before or after the kids sports tournements. He even was about to go hunting the morning his son Travis was going to be born (his wife just felt funny and asked him to stay home to which later, Travis was born).

Dewight grew up working for engineering companies doing drafting for projects, all the way up until Covid hit. He would still make time for us kids and our sporting events, graduations, and big life events and still have time to enjoy the great outdoors. My dad ending up having a heart attack in 2019, which was a shock to the family, but he came out stronger than before!

Just up until a couple of months ago, he was his normal self, doing projects on the house or working on making flys for fishing and still going hunting. He has a huge separate desk with all of his fly tieing gear. It's something he has been doing for a while and loves to look at different fishing videos and different kinds of insects to see how he could create a copy for his fly fishing gear. He would always make extras not just for him, but for Zach and I to use when we went fishing. Especially when we would both be going together and he would be the only one catching all the fish! But, he would sling us the one he was using so that we could catch some too.

No matter the weather or terrain my father would always climb, hunt, fish, and scale over mountains to enjoy his passion for the outdoors. He hardly ever backed down when it came to the outdoors. When he took my mom (his wife now, girlfriend at the time) out fishing, he gave her some of his waders, to which came to find out they had a hole in them. Colleen didn't back down and they kept on fishing. Mind you this was in Alaska in a freezing river! This was their first date! One year when our family went hunting up in the mountains, it ended up snowing 1.5 feet overnight and we still kept on hunting. It was not the most fun we had but we still loved the idea of being together and enjoying the outdoors.

Nothing has stopped my dad up until a couple of months ago. He started to get some back pain that was radiating around his rib cage. He ended up seeing a couple of doctors and a chiropractor to see if he may have just pinched a nerve. While all this was going on he was having trouble breathing and was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. With the pain not going away and a couple of x-rays later, he was diagnosed with a horizontal fracture on his T8 vertebrae. This explained the back pain, to which we were relieved. But things started to get worse. He got another x-ray and a CAT scan done, to see if more issues were going on.

The results came back that there was some kind of dark mass on his right lung, to which the doctor may have said it is lung cancer, but they did not know for sure. With his pain increasing and functionality decreasing slowly each day, we got the blood test results back and they came back negative. This was a huge relief, but we still needed a biopsy to see what is going on. Finally, the doctors got him into the hospital to do PET scans to see what else is going on and to clear things up.

As of 3/29/2023 he was diagnosed with cancer in his liver, spine, rib cage, left femur, both sides of his pelvic bone, and left shoulder. This was a shock to us while on video chat with the Doctor. This is something I did not think would happen to my dad. He has always been the one attacking things full force and never backing down. For those who know my dad, thank you for all you do and the time you have been able to spend with him. I ask you to pray and send your love to him and to the rest of his family. One thing my dad does not want to worry about is what is going to happen to his family or our house, or if we will be okay. We don't know the full extent of everything and he is needing as much help as possible for his treatments and to save the house where my mom lives.

Thank you all so very very much!
