Help Pay Alvaro’s Medical Bills - Story Below!

We want to raise $15,000 for 2 separate hospital incidents that happened in mid June and early August. Here is the story:

This is my story - My wife and I and our 2 young daughters (3 & 7 months) signed up with Health Insurance through the Market Place and it was going to cost us upwards of 1500 a month - something we could not afford - so she decided to take my daughters and go with Medi-share Christian ministries - and I decided to stay with regular health insurance. The initial one I signed up with didn’t have access to some of the hospitals that I wanted and so after a month, I switched to Community Health Choice. At the time, both my wife and I had 2 separate accounts to access the Healthcare.gov website. With all the switching back and forth - I got confused and would signed into my account - which had the old information and it said “paid” - whereas my health insurance was actually through my wife’s account - and was left without having paid the first month. 3 months later, I ended being in the hospital for a small bowel obstruction, something that I have a history of - and the reason why I stayed with regular health insurance - and we find out that my health insurance had been cancelled.

My family and I got COVID after a trip to Mexico - being worried that COVID might flare up my small bowel issues - I took Pavloxid as a preventative measure - and it ended cause such severe intestinal issues that I had to go to the ER. After an emergency room stay and 4 days in the hospital, we owe 44k. Through the grace of God, we were sent a reduced bill of 3,100. Including the emergency room bills along with other bills that we were sent, we estimate that this total bill will be 7k-8k.

As some of you know, in August I had a serious Mountain Biking accident where I had an emergency spinal fusion surgery. I was riding at a local trail alone and fell while going off of a small ramp. Since the fall was slow and not from about 2 feet off the ground, the injury was serious but not life threatening. One month later, I have recovered unbelievably well. However, that definitely will add to our medical bills, estimating around 7k-8k. This time we had Medical Insurance - with an out of pocket maximum of 7k. It is for this reason that we raised the goal of the fundraiser to $15,000.

So far we have had 89 people donate to the fundraiser. I will be praying for each of you by name. Please be generous with what you give - know of our prayers for you - and we will keep you update every 2-3 weeks with what is going on. God bless!!
