Help Pawsitive Murphy!

So many of you have reached out to me asking how you can help as we face the challenging news that our beloved MURPHY was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Sadly we discovered this news at the same time as the woman who originally rescued him, my MOM, faces her own battle with cancer. It's all a little too tender for our hearts for all of this to happen at once. Especially as MURPHY plays a very integral part of our support team. Not only does he give comfort to my MOM. He helps me be the caretaker that I am for my MOM. I would not be able to give my MOM the level of care that I am without him.
After much meditation and consultation with his exceptional team of vets we have decided that MURPHY deserves for us to do everything we can to give him more time alongside a good quality of life. If it weren't for inflamed lymphs you wouldn't know MURPHY was sick. He is his pawsitive playful self that has come so far since my MOM first rescued him. But Lymphoma is fast acting so we needed to make a decision efficiently. Fortunately, his particular kind of Lymphoma is reported to respond very well to chemo. That on top of his age (still young!), giving him a cancer fighting diet and supplements we have a very strong 75%+ chance of giving him more time with us.
The challenge is that his chemo treatment is no Chinatown bargain. It's expensive. So we are providing a platform here for anyone that wants to contribute but can't make it to my benefit yoga class/auction for MURPHY we are having with all proceeds going to his chemo care. We are also applying for a grant to a few organizations that provide pet cancer care support funding.
We would not be able to live with ourselves if we didn't try. As the saying goes "Who rescued who?" MURPHY has been a pillar of love & healing to my MOM, myself, my husband Josh and to an entire wellness community I teach and help serve. Some students call him a "guru". One little girl's MOM asked if I could bring MURPHY to her home for a healing session to help her rid her fear of dogs. Sure enough the little girl fell in love with MURPHY and now calls him the "unicorn breed" & all fears for dogs lost.
For me personally MURPHY has helped me get on my yoga mat on days when I found it so hard to do "the work". Everyday that I sat down to work thru my challenges, my grief, whatever it was... MURPHY sat right beside me on the yoga mat. He constantly reminded me where we needed to be. While I do believe yoga and all things healing have helped him calm his original anxieties... his presence helped me heal mine too.
So I hope you can help me on this road to help this soul we love so much stick around longer... because we need him to. Thank you so much for your love & understanding!
XOXO

Kat Higgins
